OnePlus Nord 4 5G Review: A Solid Mid-Range Contender with a Premium Feel
The OnePlus Nord 4 5G is finally here, and it brings a refreshing twist to the mid-range smartphone game. I’ve been using the Oasis Green variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage for a few weeks now, and here's my honest, real-world experience with this device.
Design & Build: A Premium Touch
Let’s start with the design. The Oasis Green color is stunning—fresh, vibrant, and eye-catching without being too flashy. OnePlus has done a fantastic job with the aesthetics. The back feels premium with its matte finish, and the aluminum frame gives it a sturdy, flagship-like feel.
This is actually the first Nord to feature a metal unibody design, and trust me, it makes a huge difference. It feels solid in hand—no creaks, no flex. Just pure confidence.
Display: Bright, Sharp & Smooth
The 6.74-inch AMOLED display is a treat. It's flat (a plus for many), with 1.5K resolution and a silky-smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Colors are vibrant, blacks are deep, and visibility under direct sunlight is pretty good. Watching YouTube or scrolling Instagram on this screen is genuinely enjoyable.
Performance: Snappy & Reliable
Powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, the Nord 4 handles daily tasks with ease. Whether you're multitasking between apps, streaming content, or playing games like BGMI or Asphalt 9, the performance is fluid. The 8GB LPDDR5X RAM keeps things smooth, and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage means quick app launches and ample space.
Thermals are well managed too. I didn’t experience any major heating issues, even with longer gaming sessions or video editing.
Battery Life: Goes the Distance
The 5500mAh battery is a definite highlight. On moderate usage, I easily get a full day and a half. And even if you do manage to drain it, the 100W SUPERVOOC fast charging gets you from 0 to 100% in under 30 minutes. It’s a life-saver on busy mornings.
Camera: Good Enough for the Price
The dual-camera setup (50MP main + 8MP ultra-wide) does a decent job. In daylight, the pictures are sharp, with good dynamic range and natural colors. Night mode is okay—not mind-blowing, but serviceable. The ultra-wide is handy but lacks detail in low light.
The 16MP front camera takes decent selfies, and video calls look clean and smooth.
Software: Clean & Useful
It runs OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14, which is light, fast, and free from unnecessary bloat. OnePlus promises 3 years of major updates and 4 years of security patches, which is a nice touch in the mid-range segment.
